Description

Day 1: Arrival in Akagera National Park Upon your arrival in Akagera National Park, make your way to your chosen accommodation. The morning will be dedicated to getting settled in and ensuring you have everything you need for your stay. After checking in, enjoy lunch at your accommodation or a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to explore the park's diverse landscapes and look for the iconic African wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, and giraffes. As the day comes to a close, return to your accommodation for a relaxing evening and dinner.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive Begin Day 2 with an early morning game drive, ideally at sunrise, when the animals are most active. This is a prime time to spot predators such as lions and leopards, as well as other wildlife. Take a break for lunch at one of the park's designated picnic spots, where you can enjoy your meal amidst the natural beauty of Akagera. In the afternoon, continue your game drive, exploring different areas of the park and taking in the breathtaking scenery. As the sun sets, return to your accommodation for dinner and a restful night.

Day 3: Boat Safari and Wildlife Viewing On the morning of Day 3, head to the shores of Lake Ihema for a boat safari. This excursion will offer you a unique perspective on the park's water and birdlife, and you might encounter hippos and crocodiles along with various bird species. Following the boat safari, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a lodge or picnic area within the park. In the afternoon, embark on another game drive, seeking out wildlife and enjoying the stunning landscapes that Akagera National Park has to offer. As the day winds down, return to your accommodation for a final night's stay.

Day 4: Birdwatching at Lake Ihema Your final day in Akagera National Park is dedicated to birdwatching at Lake Ihema. Wake up early and set out for a day filled with avian exploration. Lake Ihema is known for its rich birdlife, including numerous waterfowl, waders, and raptors. Spend the morning and early afternoon capturing the vibrant bird species with your binoculars and camera. Don't forget to pack a lunch or arrange for a meal to be provided during your birdwatching excursion. This day will allow you to appreciate the park's avifauna to the fullest. After a fulfilling day of birdwatching, you can start your journey back or opt for a final evening in Akagera before departing.
