Day 1: Kigali to Akagera National Park - Full-Day Game Drive and Birdwatching
Your adventure begins in Kigali, where we will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning. We'll provide a comfortable transfer to Akagera National Park, which is about a 2-3 hour drive from Kigali. En route, you'll enjoy scenic views of Rwanda's countryside.
Upon arriving at Akagera National Park, you'll be welcomed by the park's stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. After a quick orientation, you'll start your full-day game drive, exploring the park's rich wildlife and beautiful terrain. Keep an eye out for the "Big 5" animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos, as well as other wildlife like giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.
Following your morning game drive, you'll take a break for a picnic lunch within the park, allowing you to savor your meal surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.
In the afternoon, your adventure continues with a birdwatching experience along the shores of Lake Ihema. Akagera National Park is known for its impressive bird diversity, and you'll have the opportunity to spot a wide range of bird species, from waterfowl to raptors.
As the sun begins to set, you'll conclude your birdwatching and game drive adventure. We will then provide a comfortable transfer back to Kigali, where you can reminisce about your incredible day in Akagera National Park.
